We Make Them Family "I just wanted to thank all my wonderful clients who trusted the training of their dogs with me. I am proud of you all and wish you all the best with your beautiful dogs. Thank you so much for supporting my business and allowing Kindred Spirits to open the door for you to a life of obedient and loving dogs. Good Work Everyone!" ~~ Jennie R. Jones |

"My
dog, Moose, went to Kindred Spirits in August of 2003 for 3 weeks of
intensive training. We called it "boarding school" or "summer camp"
around our house. Moose was adopted about 6 weeks prior to his trip, and
although he came with a very big heart, he also came with some very bad
habits. He had a tendency to jump up on people when greeting them, which
scared many children (with whom he was just trying to play) and almost
knocked over several adults. He also loved to take daily excursions
without his mom (me), and tended to bolt whenever he was let outside.
Walking him was really not very fun because he pulled the whole time and
ended up dragging me around the majority of the neighborhood.
Moose went to Kindred Spirits from his hometown of Nashville while I was on a vacation. I had high hopes for him because I had seen Jenny's wonderful work with my roommate's dog, Jasper. I asked Jenny to teach him not to jump on people when he met them, to come when he was told, to lie down (as it seems, "sit" came naturally when Moose was first adopted, but "down" was not in his vocabulary), to heel, and if there was time to learn how to fetch (yes - this lab had no idea what a tennis ball was when he came home). When I picked Moose up from "boarding school" 3 weeks later, the changes were drastic. He now calmly (although still happily) greets people who come to our house, he stands still when small children come up to pet him when we're at the park, he lies down when told to do so (but prefers a treat when he does), he "comes" on command unless he decides to be the adolescent that he is and ignore me, heels when he is told (which makes our! walks so much more enjoyable), and even fetches. Jenny even threw in a bonus called the "place" command, which when he is instructed, goes to his bed because that is his "place." He is so much better behaved after spending time with Jenny, and so much more fun to have around. I absolutely love receiving compliments when we go out in public on how well he behaves, and that never would have happened before his visit to Kindred Spirits. When I arrived at Kindred Spirits on the first day with Moose, I was very
impressed with Jenny's professionalism and her love for dogs. I felt very
good about leaving Moose with her (and I am a very protective mother), and
I always knew that he would be in good hands. She is very responsible
with the animals, more patient with them than I could ever be, and her
love for the dogs and for her job show in everything she does.
Friendliness and kindness simply radiate from her. I could not have found
a better place or a better person with whom I could trust my pet."

"Alex's
story is a sad one with a happy ending. He, along with 3 other purebred
peibies, was abandoned by his owners in South Carolina. Thankfully, a
neighbor fed and watered them until rescue could be contacted. While living
with these awful people, Alex was backed over by a truck in the drive way
and his rear leg had to be amputated. Even through all this, Alex remained a
friendly, active boy. He had some issues, however. Jennie called the main
one "barrier anxiety". You see, Alex hates being confined to a small area
behind a pet gate, in a crate or in a small pen. He also wanted to be
"boss". Jennie took Alex for three weeks and did amazing things for him and
for us. He came back home a very sweet boy who yearned to please. He learned
all the basic commands and was very quick at responding. Even though it was
difficult for Alex to sit because of his missing leg, he always did so! Alex has been placed in a wonderful home in Virginia Beach. Jennie taught him to be a much better boy and for that we are thankful. Alex deserved a safe, loving forever home and that's what he has now. We owe this entirely to Jennie, who trained him so well." ~~Cindy Sherrill - In-Kennel Training |

"
I wanted to let you know how much I appreciate you keeping our Boston
Terrier, Tommy, for our family when we are out of town. I had tried kennels
before, but was always worried when Tommy would come home nervous,
exhausted, and sometimes dirty. As you know, he likes to be a clean little
fellow! I knew I could not keep imposing on my friends to keep him for us.
When you came recommended by a neighbor I was willing to give it a try. I
have been very happy with what you have done with Tommy. I truly believe he
doesn't suffer the separation anxiety with you that he did at other
facilities. It is such a pleasure when we arrive to pick him up and after
greeting us, runs back to you to ask to play! It is obvious you have spent
time engaging him and really connecting with him. It is worth the drive for
us to know he is happy and well cared for. Thank you once again! Finding you
has been a wonderful relief for us. I hope we will be able to to bring Tommy
to "camp" every time he can't accompany us while we are out of town."~~Betsy Barton - Boarding |

"Jennie took Jinx for several weeks and worked with
her. Jinx is a very strong dog and would pull very badly on the leash. She
even gave me bruises. I just wanted Jinx to be manageable and listen to
me. After she came home Jennie worked with us and helped us learn to
communicate to each other. Now she does not pull me and despite my small
size I can handle her eighty pounds of muscle."~~Mary Lou Mancini - In-Kennel Training and Private Lessons |

"My dogs love Jennie and I love Jennie. Jennie Jones is just a
natural born animal trainer. I have never seen her show anything but
love, compassion, and concern for my animals. She even tries the shocks
on the electronic training collars on herself before putting the collar
on a dog. On my farm we give Jennie a sure thumbs and paws
up." ~~Pat Painter- Private Lessons |

"Kindred Spirits changed Lucky so much. He is like a
totally different dog. My eleven year old son can even handle him. He is
so much more a part of the family now." ~~Kati Allison, Matt's mother- In-Kennel Training |

"I
met Jennie for the first time when writing her insurance. At that time I
had a one year old Weimaraner named Slate. My mother and grandmother love
there granddog and great-granddog but due to his size and enthusiasm he
would drag them everywhere. Jennie taught me the proper way to
work with Slate and the philosophy behind her training. After
6 lessons he had completely turned around. He is much more attentive
and respectable to who is on the other end of the leash. I would recommend
Jennie to any one who has a dog that is a part of the family."~~Ben McLean - Private Lessons |

"Jennie has done an
excellent job helping our family train, Sophie. She is concerned
and presents information in a way that is easy to apply after she leaves.
I appreciate her willingness to receive phone calls during the week
with training problems. She has made a tremendous difference in our
dog's behavior." ~~Carol Smith - Private Lessons |

"Jubei is the second
Golden Retriever that I have raised and is nothing like the first one. He
is a very stubborn and strong willed puppy. Jennie Jones six
private sessions for basic obedience training were very helpful and
effective for my puppy. He learned all the necessary basics through her
lessons and is now working on his CGC title. I am very happy with the
results and what my dog has accomplished with her training."~~Chikako I. Lane-Private Lessons and In-Kennel Training |

"The
group lessons were great. It was a lot of fun to work with my dog in a
group setting. I was able to see how Sam interacted with others in the
group lessons. Jennie did a wonderful job in a short time giving me
instructions that help me manage Sam. Now he will obey commands and we can
do many more things together. I used to be afraid that I would lose
control of him if I took him out of the house. Now he obeys when I give
him commands and we can go on walks together. I don’t have to be afraid
of him running away or going after anyone while we’re walking. This
training has changed his attitude and mine."~~Wes - Basic Obedience, Group Lessons |

"Jennie
has certainly taught Caitlin's class at a level Caitlin could understand
and follow. She worked with Caitlin as well as the adults in the class on
areas of training that have been individual to each dog. We plan for
Caitlin and Suey to take the next class as soon as graduating from the
current class." ~~Reece Chase, Caitlin's mom, - Puppy Training Group Class |
